About me

Originally a Yorkshire lass, I am currently living in Edinburgh with my gorgeous husband Ben where I work as an accountancy lecturer.

I love to cook, and especially to bake – it’s the perfect antidote to a long day! I also love how much of a sociable thing making and eating food is and how it brings people together. I think I like making food for other people more than I like making it for just myself, and anyone that knows me will tell you I am a bit of a feeder!

Applepiezucchini was started as a way to make sure I made time to cook, as the temptation in my previous job (which had far too many late nights!) was just to make quick fixes and to treat cooking as a chore rather than a hobby and a passion. It’s grown faster than I thought it would, and I have been so pleasantly surprised by the people I have met and the lovely feedback I have received in the blogging community – every day I log on here inspires me to try something new!

Hope you find something you like!

  3. Hello lovely! This is my first visit to your blog and it’s such a pleasure to be able to read about your cooking adventures! I definitely understand the temptation to go with ‘quick fixes’ at the end of a long work day. I also work full-time but I’ve come to realize that cooking is my relaxation and ‘creative time’ at the end of the day. I love it and I’ve never regretted the decision to start cooking, no matter how tired I’ve been! Anyway, I’ll be following you from now on. Thanks for the gorgeous inspiration! xx
